Metal for Medals @ Ridglea Theatre - 10.21.05
Reviewer - Metal Tiger

Metal for Medals was an incredible show with many talented bands who came together to raise money for the Special Olympics. When Faith Fails started off the night and really got the crowd pumping with tunes like American Warhead, Breakshit and Genocide which was dedicated to "Dimebag" Darrell Abbott. Next up was Revolution of Knowledge, Mod Effect and Mudflap who all kept the party going! During the middle of the show they raffled off a brand new guitar which was donated by Guitar Center and 3 two way phones donated by Motorola. Also donated free from Xtremesouth Entertainment was a t-shirt and some Danzig tickets which the crowd went wild over. Other sponsors include 93.3 The Bone, American Ironhorse, and the Tarrant County Sheriff's Association who donated their time and money to a great cause. Next up was the band Splinter who had everyone in the place mesmerized with their incredible musical talents. Splinter rocked the house with songs like Warpit, Headcase and F.T.M. (Feed the Masses). After watching Splinter for the first time they have now become my new favorite band! Even off the stage they are a great bunch of guys! Waja was up next. They certainly kept the crowd going and even had one of the special needs kids up on stage headbanging with them! I was very entertained by the cover song Tom Sawyer they did. The last two bands to play were Determination and Loaded Mosses both very talented bands who kept the party going until well after 1am! It looked like a very successful event for a very special cause.
