No Souls Lost - Demo
by James aka Hopecrusher

I am at a loss with bands like this. To get the reader interested, I like to throw out at least what genre a band fits neatly into so they know from the start if it is a band they would be interested in. Bands like No Souls Lost draw from so many influences that pigeon-holing them is simply not an option. That is, in my opinion, a great thing. Both vocally and musically, No Souls Lost fuse elements of thrash, death, black and southern metal into what is, surprisingly, still a very cohesive wall of noise. Ryan is and has been one of my favorite vocalists in this style of music for a while now. He brings a quality to everything that I've heard him work on. Not to mention the fact that it is usually a compliment to the skill of the band when he chooses to sing for them. Skilled is most definitely the word of the day with No Souls Lost. Not content to simply rehash what a thousand other bands before them have done, these guys go a long way toward creating a sound that they can call their own. Don't get me wrong, there probably isn't a single moment on this demo where you will stand up and go "Man, I've never heard a band do that before!" but I honestly don't think I've heard a band put the pieces together quite like No Souls Lost does. They are just different enough to stand out but still familiar enough to quickly appeal to any fan of truly heavy music, right away. The only real disappointment with this demo is that there isn't more of it. I truly hope this is a taste of things to come as I would love to hear these rip it up on a full length album.
