His leadership resulted in the development and construction of (1) an effective pump station debris removal system, (2) a SCADA control system, (3) backup power systems for the pump stations, and (4) a Flooded Roadway Warning System. While these accomplishments significantly enhanced the flood protection of Dallas citizens and their property, they also provided major technological enhancements which increased the efficiency and effectiveness of the flood control staff. Through his consistent commitment to flood control, Dallas always received excellent reviews on annual and periodic inspections performed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.
Ron is a member and past president of the
Southwestern Association of ALERT Systems; a member and past executive
board member of The National Hydrologic Warning Council; a member of the
American Public Works Association; and the recipient of numerous awards.
